Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main administrative point of contact for employees regarding all matters related to contracts, including onboarding.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing by collecting, calculating, and entering data into our payroll system.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by auditing information, ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate payroll records that comply with statutory requirements.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to payroll-related queries from employees and management.
  • Prepare reports summarising earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages for internal use and as required by law.
  • Lead and collaborate with the Head of HR and finance teams to coordinate all compensation and benefits tasks, employee benefits, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and other payroll changes.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that affect payroll procedures and implement these changes accordingly.
  • Assist in the year-end processes, including preparing bonus calculations, tax forms, and reconciling annual payroll totals. You will also work with the Head of HR on implementing a new HRIS system to enhance the employee experience and increase efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of payroll systems and software to ensure accurate processing of all payroll transactions.
  • Proficiency in calculating wages, tax deductions, and any additional employee benefits to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Capability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies swiftly and accurately, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with employees about payroll questions and providing clear explanations of their payslips.
  • Meticulous record-keeping of payroll activities, updates, and changes, adhering to the company's documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse payroll data to generate reports that aid management in decision-making processes.
  • Familiarity with statutory regulations and labour laws to ensure our payroll practices remain compliant with national guidelines.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address complex payroll issues or implement new payroll policies and procedures.
  • Experience and understanding within retail payroll and commissions calculations are highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the US market is an advantage.
